Installing and Using CrossLoop
This is how we see each other's computers. When we open CrossLoop and you give me your Access Code, I can see your computer screen, and even take control to show you how things work. I can even install my indicators for you, if you are having problems, and check the settings, and things like that.
Don't worry, I won't do anything bad to your computer. I promise not to hurt it, or to sneak around.
And when you sign off, I can't get back in without you giving me a new access code. So, breathe easy. It's safe.
Here are the steps:
1. Go to http://www.crossloop.com
2. Click on the button in the upper right corner, labeled Download Free.
3. On the next screen, click on the Button called Download Free. Look where the red arrow is pointing.
4. The file should begin to save to your computer. You may need to click on Keep, in the picture below, or on Save, or Save As. It depends on which operating system you are running.
Usually, downloaded files witll go to the folder in your public folder, where all downloads are saved. On my computer it is in the following directory:
So, you will go to your C: drive, click on the Users folder, click on your usernamed folder (my folder is Sunny), and then click on the Downloads folder.
5. On my computer, after clicking Keep, I can view the following window:
6. Find the file named CrossLoopSetup.
7. Double Click on the file so it will begin to run (execute).
8. This will install CrossLoop to your computer.
(8.5. On all future occasions, you will simply go to your Start button and Run Crossloop.)
9. Once CrossLoop begins to run, it will bring up the following window:
10. Next, the following window will appear. Click on Skip at the bottom right. Notice my red arrow.
11. The next window, below, will allow you to click on Share, so you can share your screen with me.
12. Once you click Share, you will be given an Access Code, which you will need to tell me, so I can get access to your screen. Again, it's at the end of the red arrow.
13. After giving me the access code, I will enter it in my CrossLoop screen. At the same time, you must click on the Connect button on your screen.
14. Next a Question will appear in about the middle of your computer screen, asking you to allow me control. Please allow me full control, so I can move your mouse and show you around the screens.
15. That's it. Next time, you will start with step 8.5.
